The Lie of the Hustle: Why Slowing Down Is the Most Productive Thing You Can Do

Updated: Jul 16

There was a time when I thought hustle meant success.

If I wasn’t exhausted, I hadn’t earned it.

If I wasn’t busy, I must not be doing enough.

If I slowed down, I felt… guilty.

Sound familiar?

The world has sold us a lie:

That the only way to “have it all” as women is to hustle harder.

But the truth is—you weren’t created to hustle.

You were created to flow.

To nurture.

To carry.

To create—not force.

And when you start working with your feminine energy, not against it…

Everything begins to shift.

The Truth About Hustle Culture

Hustle thrives on fear:

  • Fear of falling behind.

  • Fear of not being enough.

  • Fear of missing out.

And it’s loud.

So loud, it drowns out your intuition.

It disconnects you from your body.

It puts your nervous system in overdrive.

But God didn’t design women to run on burnout.

He designed us to be sensitive to rhythm, attuned to cycles, deeply connected to ourselves and others.

That’s not weakness—it’s wisdom.

You Can Still Work—and Rest

Let’s be clear: This doesn’t mean we don’t work.

Proverbs 31 celebrates the industrious woman.

She rises early. She considers a field and buys it. She sells what her hands have made.

But she works from a centered place, not a frantic one.

She works with wisdom, not weariness.

She’s in rhythm—not in survival mode.

What Feminine Flow Looks Like

  • You honor your capacity.

  • You create space to think, feel, and be.

  • You say no when something drains your peace.

  • You receive help without guilt.

  • You build from overflow—not obligation.

Working from flow doesn’t mean you don’t show up.

It means you show up aligned, anchored, and alive.

When I Stopped Hustling, Everything Grew

The craziest thing? When I stopped working 24/7 and started honoring my energy, everything expanded.

  • We took more family vacations.

  • I bought a new car.

  • I launched new projects.

  • I had more time with my kids.

And I did it working less hours—because I wasn’t drained. I was in alignment.

You Were Made to Live in Grace

We’re not called to suffer.Yes, the world has trouble. But God says He came so that we might have life—abundant life. (John 10:10)

You’re not just a servant—you’re a daughter of the King.And daughters don’t strive for what’s already theirs.They receive it.
