10-Minute Self-Care for Busy Moms: Simple Rituals to Keep You Grounded

Updated: Jan 20

Because you deserve a moment to breathe—even if it’s just ten minutes.

Life as a mom is a beautiful whirlwind—kids, meals, work, husband, ministry, and a never-ending list of things pulling for your attention. But in the midst of it all, how do you stay grounded? How do you make space for you?

Here’s the honest truth: You can’t do it all. But you can take small steps each day to nurture yourself and prioritize what truly matters. Here’s my go-to, 10-minute self-care routine that keeps me centered:

  1. Meditate (or as I like to call it, “Divine Downloads”): Pause. Listen. Breathe. When you stop for even a minute, you allow room to hear what you’re truly meant to focus on that day. You’ll be amazed at how a few quiet moments can clarify your direction and help filter out the noise.

  2. Practice Thankfulness: Where your focus goes, energy flows. The more you nurture gratitude, the less room there is for complaints or overwhelm. Try jotting down one thing you’re grateful for every day—it’s a small practice with a big impact.

  3. Brain Dump: Get those swirling thoughts out of your head and onto paper (or your phone, if you’re a digital girl like me). A running to-do list not only frees up mental space but also keeps you organized and on track. Whether it’s pen-to-paper or typed into an app, a brain dump is a lifeline on busy days.

  4. Read (or Listen!): Learning keeps us growing. Audiobooks are my best friend in this season—I can keep my hands busy with chores while filling my mind with something inspiring. Keep a notebook nearby for those “aha” moments you don’t want to forget.

These little rituals can help align your day with your heart and goals. Embrace what truly matters, and don’t worry about squeezing everything in. You’re meant to do what aligns with your values and purpose—doing that will bring you the real joy and peace you’re striving for.

Here’s to finding joy in the beautiful chaos.

You’ve got this, Mama.
