Breaking Free from the Invisible Chains: Why You’re Not Actually Stuck

Have you ever felt like you were doing all the right things—checking every box, working hard, praying, being faithful—yet seeing little to no progress?

A few years ago, I was there.

Everyone around me said, “You just need to do more” or “You’re not doing enough.”

And the more I tried, the more frustrated, hopeless, and even angry I became.

I remember thinking, “Why even try?”

When Doing More Isn’t the Answer

It wasn’t until I started working with a coach that I realized the problem wasn’t my effort—it was the way I was approaching life.

I had been living almost entirely in my masculine energy: striving, pushing, hustling.

And while discipline and structure have their place, God didn’t design women to live in hustle mode 24/7.

I began learning the beauty and strength of feminine energy—and it changed everything.

What Is Feminine Energy?

Feminine energy is not about being passive or doing nothing.

It’s about:

  • Planning with clarity but not marrying yourself to how things must happen

  • Flowing with grace, giving God space to direct the steps you’ve prepared

  • Receiving with joy instead of forcing outcomes

Scripture reminds us:

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”(Proverbs 16:9, NLT)

When I shifted into this way of living, I began to notice things falling into place without the draining hustle.

Doors opened.

Opportunities came.

Joy multiplied.

I worked—but it didn’t feel like striving anymore.

How to Know You’re in Flow (Not Hustle)

You’ll know you’re in flow when:

  • You’re working, but not constantly drained

  • Ideas and solutions come more naturally

  • You feel aligned instead of anxious

  • You’re moving forward without forcing things

Being “stuck” doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

It’s often just information—an invitation to pause, reflect, and allow God to pour fresh creativity and direction into your life.

3 Steps When You Feel Stuck

  1. Get in a state of gratefulness

Gratitude shifts your focus from lack to abundance. Start small—thank God for the breath in your lungs and the roof over your head.

  2. Get clear on your vision

Ask yourself: What do I really want in this season? Write it down and pray over it. God honors clarity.

  3. Do something that delights you

Joy opens the door for flow. Take a walk, read a book, paint, bake bread—anything that fills your soul.

There’s a Season for Everything

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”(Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Being stuck may simply be your season to rest, receive, and prepare for what’s next.

And remember Jesus’ promise:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

You are not failing. You are being held.

And sometimes, slowing down is exactly what catapults you to the next level.
