When You're Feeling Stuck in Life, It’s Not Because God Forgot You

Sunrise over misty hills, with soft golden light and a tranquil, fog-covered landscape. Gentle blue and orange hues fill the sky.

Have you ever had one of those seasons where everything feels…paused?

You’re showing up. You’re praying. You’re trying.

And yet…nothing is moving forward.

It’s easy to start wondering, “Did I take a wrong turn? Did God forget about me?”

Friend, I want you to know — being stuck is not the same as being abandoned.

Normalize the feeling

When we hit these “stuck” moments, our minds can play tricks on us.

We compare ourselves to others, see their highlight reels, and assume God must be blessing them more.

But often, what we call stuck is really a God-ordained pause — a time of preparation, pruning, or protection.

Think about Joseph in prison, David tending sheep, or Esther waiting for the right time to speak — each “delay” was part of a bigger story.

Shift perspective

What if your “stuck” season is actually God saving you from rushing into something you’re not ready for?

What if it’s the season where He’s building the strength, wisdom, and resilience you’ll need for the next season?

God’s timing is rarely about our convenience — it’s about our calling.

Practical ways to lean into the pause

  1. Pray for perspective, not just progress. Ask God to show you what He’s doing beneath the surface.

  2. Focus on daily obedience. Sometimes faith looks like washing the dishes and loving your family well while you wait.

  3. Stop the comparison game. Your timeline is handcrafted by God — no one else’s journey matches yours.

You are not forgotten.

You are not behind.

You are right where you need to be for what God is preparing next.

If you’ve been feeling stuck in life, maybe this is your reminder that it’s not punishment — it’s positioning.

What would change if you saw this as a chapter of preparation instead of delay?
